Egg Shop – Drag Egg Portrait Painting Workshop
Have you ever wanted to do drag but don’t know where to start? Lets work together to create your very own look. Join us for a creative and empowering workshop where you’ll help preserve the vibrant history of Meanjin’s drag scene through creating your very own drag look! You will then be guided through the process of turning your design into a painting on your very own egg.
Inspired by the Clown Egg Register (1947), this project honours the art of face painting/makeup and its significance in marginalised communities, particularly within the LGBTQ+ community. Just as the Clown Egg Register celebrates clown artistry, The Drag Egg Register highlights the makeup mastery of drag performers.
All materials are supplied, and artworks are yours to keep (sealed for pickup after the workshop).

Limited to 8-10 participants per session
$40 per ticket
